Diet scams. We've all heard about them and some of them we have tried without success. However, in most cases, diet plans that have been advertised and still are-do not work and some of them can be dangerous. Losing weight has never been easy but trying a diet that you know little about, can not only be dangerous, but it can be deadly. Most diet scams work on a person's insecurity and low self-worth; driving a person to reach out and go on a diet that promotes easy and fast weight loss and promises that you will be thin in four weeks! Can't be done but they want you to think that it's possible.
An example of a diet scam is the "fat and carb-blocking pills." This diet offer is supposed to be effective by blocking the fat and carbohydrates that you put into your body-thus helping you to lose weight. End result? It doesn't work. Another example of a diet scam is one that promotes weight loss by drinking herbal tea. Again, the tea may be helpful and nutritious but it will not help you to lose weight. Also, be careful if you see a diet plan that states, "eat yourself thin." This eat yourself thin scam is just that; a scam!
Still another weight loss scam is a diet patch or jewelry that is worn on your hand or ears. Again, this is another weight loss scam because it simply doesn't work! Then there are body wraps or "slim suits." All this does is make you feel uncomfortable and soon you will find that it doesn't work.
Another thing to keep in mind is when you see "quick loss" advertising on TV or the Web--is that they are diet scams that are not regulated. Research has shown that most popular diet scams use herbal ingredients-ingredients that are not regulated by the FDA. That makes them fraudulent and shows that any weight loss claims that they make, are fraudulent and have not been evaluated.
